It’s been a tough week this week and when I came across this quote it really gave me the opportunity to have a little word with myself!
This week the terrible twos brought us ‘tantrums’ over taking his sleeping bag off in the morning, taking his sleeping bag off after nap time, getting dressed, getting undressed, going out, coming home, leaving a shop, leaving the Bakewell tarts on the self serve counter until they’ve been paid for… I could go on but I’m sure you get the general idea 🤦♀️
But when you really think about all the above things, they really are quite arbitrary. The rules we set ourselves or those made by others are supposed to make sense as we grow into adults, but I guess this week I’ve been wondering if they really do!
Why shouldn’t we stay in our pjs if we aren’t going out? Why shouldn’t we test out the toys in a shop? (after all we try on our clothes in changing rooms) And most importantly why should we leave the item on the self service counter once we’ve scanned it? Anyone?!
I guess what I’m trying to say is that yes it’s important for our toddlers to learn from us but it’s just as important for us to learn from them ❤️
Have you learnt anything interesting from your little ones recently?
